Nesting...

This week the "nesting" bug bit our flat...and i love it.

Kristin, who used to live here, is coming to visit...which motivated an overhaul of the guest room, which motivated me to act sooner rather than later in my quest for curtains (the ones i had in my room had to move to the guest room)...which motivated me to bring the sewing machine home from Sari Bari...which motivated beth to make a beautiful wreath...which motivated Sheila to buy fabric to sew her own curtains...etc...

last week i also finally ordered a bed-side table, which will be done next saturday, and today i bought some pillows and ordered some beautiful pillow covers so i can make a little "nook" for myself in my room.

and really, what i love about all this activity in "setting up my home" - and in making my bedroom a place i want to hang out in is that its so life giving. five months ago when i got to kolkata, the thought of buying furniture and curtains was just too overwhelming. it was paralyzing - i literally couldn't make a decision. now, its so fun to buy things that i want to keep in my room, to make it my own little refuge. crazy the difference a little time makes!
