My friend, Jen Dean (who work for WMF and lives in Argentina) recently wrote an absolutely amazing blog. i thought about quoting it...pulling out the parts that i wrote in my journal and sharing them with you...but really, you should just read the whole thing. its amazing. you can follow this link to read it!
so, i've also spent a bit of time in John 14 - learning to pray these prayers and receive these promises...
"He will give you another counselor, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Sprit, who leads into all truth...no, i will not abandon you as orphans - I will come to you... I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid.
