coloring people, not eggs

this weekend was holi - and i decided to "play." its pretty much a huge water/powdered color fight. my friends' apartment building was having a party, so we went too :) I'll post some more pictures later - but for now, here's a snapshot of me after the fact - before my LONG LONG shower trying to get clean. I still have blue and pink streaks in my hair - and my hands are quite blue too! (you can also see the lovely shade of pink that surrounds me in my pretty pink palace...i wasn't lying when i said it was pink!) I'm so glad i decided to play holi - i mean, sure, my hands and hair are blue right now - but you only live once - and when else will i get to smear powdered dye on people?

Also, this weekend Stephanie and i went to a touristy part of town. I've heard that there are people selling huge balloons there, but i couldn't fully imagine what that meant. It even says in the "lonely planet" book that you can buy a large balloon...so i decided to take a picture of the big balloon (as long as you're playing the part of the tourist, you might as well dive right in...right?!) i'd say "large balloon" is an understatement - its like the size of a person.

yesteday morning i was feeling alone - far from home - displaced...take your pick of how to describe it - but it was a hard morning...but Stephanie came to the rescue and as it turned out, we had a wonderful day together. We had fun, we played tourist, we did a bit of shopping (and got good deals), we talked, and then we had a good friday service toegther in our flat. my heart is full - and i am thankful!
