Random musings and book suggestions

I'm settling in for a few days at home alone…in a flat with 5 bedrooms this is rare (I’m pretty sure this is only second time that I’ve slept alone in this flat in the 2+ years that I’ve lived here). After sheila moved to the states we were down to 3 in the flat...Beth is in the states...and Brooke is headed out of town for a few days. I’ve recently appropriated Sheila’s old room as my “second room” (I haven’t slept in my own room since the middle of May) and now here I am all alone with all 5 bedrooms (brooke offered that I could hang out in her room while she’s away…as if my 2 bedrooms and the living room aren’t enough for one person…and some friends left me the key to their flat while they’re out of town…how many rooms does one girl need?!?!?)

What does it mean when the community extrovert is looking forward (albeit a bit tentatively) to being home alone? I think it means its been a bit crazy recently…

And monsoon...where are you?!?!? and are you planning on coming any time soon...you're late...the weather is cooler...but that's not saying much since it was so ridiculously hot before...

This is a bit strange…but I’ve read some good books recently, so here are some suggestions if you’re looking for something to read…(and you happen to have the same “taste” in books that I do…)

"Living Mission" – it’s a great book written by a bunch of different folks who do work similar to what I do…it was good to read…and while I’m obviously not the target audience…it was a good read

"Letters to a Future Church" – Sarah has a chapter in the book…she spoke at a conference called, “The Eighth letter conference”, with the question being if there was an 8th letter in revelations written to the church in North America, what would it say…it was a great read…it was encouraging and challenging…

"Life of Pi" – I loved this book…it was a great story, but I also loved how there was amazing truth woven into a “fun” book like…”Faith in God is an opening up, a letting go, a deep trust, a free act of love – but sometimes it was so hard to love.”

"Haroun and the Sea of Stories" a great children’s book…a fun read for sure…
