This visa situation really came down the wire. yesterday morning i got a message from the visa processing center saying that my visa was in process, waiting for approval, they were following up - please do not call.
not the news i wanted.
then yesterday afternoon i got an email saying that i'd received the visa i applied for, and that it was back at the visa processing center...and would be fedExed back to me. woo-hoo. joy. i mean, another week in the US wouldn't have been bad - just a change of plans/emotional energy. although i do think its worth mentioning that my first response to the email that my visa was going to make it on time was pure joy. yes...time in the US has been amazing...but i'm looking forward to being back in Kolkata!
it should be in my hands by 3 today (i've been stalking the FedEx tracking number, and its on a truck in Jackson, en route to my house!). i fly tomorrow.
so these past few days i've been "busy" - packing. relaxing. enjoying a few more moments in the quite of the back yard - looking at trees, and flowers, listening to silence.
here's a list of things i've "crammed in" these last few days in the US -
a bike ride to a get breakfast with my family
extended family pizza party
swimming at the lake
playing games with my friends and family
as many meals as possible on the back deck
a run
a trip to Frosty Boy
as many cups of coffee as i can squeeze in
baking chocolate chip cookies
soaking it up...ready to get back to my other home too.
