not visiting...but it feels like it...

Its been a good few days since i've been here (almost a week!). Sheila arrived last night :). I went on the SariBari Annual celebration...and have been adjusting to the time...and laying low for the most part.

I planned to go shopping yesterday (i need to get some "culturally appropriate" clothes for B-desh), but then quite a bit of the city was closed down because a politician died, so i stayed home and chilled most of the day. I did manage to make progress getting my phone though...

On Thursday morning we head to Chennai for our regional retreat, (which will be awesome!).

It's freezing here. i've been wearing all the layers i have...slippers or socks all the time. seriously, its abnormally cold, with temperatures in the 50s and lower 60s, which doesn't sound that horrible until you factor in that there's no heat, and you can't really close the windows all the way, and my warm cozy winter clothes is in the US! i know, i know, in a couple months i'll be desperately wishing for cooler temperatures, but for now its a bit rough.

One of the things that i was prepared for, but is still a bit weird is that it feels like i'm just visiting. i came to visit my k-town friends 3 times while i was living in Bombay, so in a lot of ways it still feels like that...and with the craziness of our schedule between when i arrived and when i leave for language school, it really is like a visit. So, i'm enjoying a slower pace of life, time with people i love...and also looking forward to creating a home (albeit temporary) for myself in b-desh.
