It is official…I am a Fleshie. That’s right…I have been interviewed, approved, I have signed on that line, and I am official approved Word Made Flesh Staff. I feel like I’ve been circling this family, this community for the past 2 years peeking in, loving what I’ve been seeing, wanting to be a part, being drawn toward what I’ve seen and experienced…and yet not ready to commit myself…and today I took one last official step towards weaving my life into the tapestry of Word Made Flesh. I am so excited to continue to know this community, and I am thrilled to be able to partner with these brothers and sisters. I cannot wait to know how God will continue to draw me, and reveal Himself to me and I journey intentionally with this family.
Someone asked what my "next steps" are...so here's the short list. Take time to process the past year before starting the list of things to do for WMF. Spend as much time as possible with friends and family. Start learning Bengali. Start reading the books i'm supposed to read. Raise support. at this point i hope to leave for Kolkata in early 2010.
I know the questions, doubts, struggles, hard times will come as I prepare to put down my roots in Kolkata (and as I put those roots down)…but for now…my heart is full. Full of joy, full of celebration, full of thankfulness, and lots of other good stuff too. YIPEE!!!!
