a well-watered garden

The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Isaiah 58:11

The truth is that I don’t feel like a well-watered garden right now. I don’t know what that means while living in the developing world. I’m not entirely sure what it means today. but I believe that promise…and long to receive from God His sustenance. These past couple days I feel that water slowly seeping into my dry and weary soul. I am allowing the Lord to keep this promise in my life. I long to be like an ever-flowing spring – a place where not only am I sustained, but where others can come and find the joy and peace and sustenance of the Lord It’s another one of those promises that I don’t understand – but cling to nevertheless. Come Lord Jesus, come.
