Right before I came I got a new CD, “The Builder and the Architect” by Sandra McCracken. On the album she’s taken old hymns and puritan poetry and written new music for the lyrics. I absolutely love this cd.
Since I’ve been here my friend Merilee has sent me 3 more incredible CDs. They’re the “Indelible Grace” series, and it’s a bunch of artists who have done the same thing (Sandra McCracken is a part of that project too). I’ve been loving the old words of truth and deep theology. You can get all the cds at the Indelible Grace website www.igracemusic.com
Right now I’m somewhat obsessed with the “Pilgrim Days” album. Here’s part of one of my favorite songs (I created a playlist of only this song on my ipod and listen to it on repeat for large chunks of the day).
“Jesus I My Cross Have Taken” ~Henry Francis Lyte
Haste, then from grace to glory
Armed by faith and winged by prayer
Heaven’s eternal days before thee
God’s own hand shall guide us there
Soon shall close thy earthly mission
Soon shall pass thy pilgrim days
Hope shall change to glad fruition
Faith to sight and prayer to praise
Also, there is an incredible new website www.noisetrade.com where you can legally download great music either by paying whatever amount you want to pay, or by recommending the album to 3 friends. its awesome. one of my new fav websites. just wanted to pass on a good thing.
