saving the earth, one plastic bag at a time

that's right...i'm saving the earth one plastic bag at a time. when i buy a few things at the store, i just carry them out. revolutionary, i know. sometimes the cashier puts stuff in the bag before i mention that i don't want one. sometimes i have her take it out. sometimes i just get annoyed, and take the bag cause i don't want to be a jerk (don't worry i only get annoyed on the inside). and when i refuse my bag, i'll often say, "save the earth...on bag at a time."

i've also started line drying my clothes. why not? saves electricity...and in the winter when the air is so dry it will put humidity back in the air. it would be nice if i had a clothes line but i'm not allowed to have one in the trailer park. so i have 2 drying racks, and if i work really hard i can fit a load of laundry between the 2. i'll have to be more disciplined about doing laundry...and if was going to be really hard core about caring for the earth i'd figure out a way to air dry my sheets too...but i'm not going to...

i realize that these changes in my life aren't going to make a noticeable difference...but every little bit helps...so i'm doing my part :)

Hey Mely!
Yes, the hike was at Wild Basin...it was beautiful! We didn't go very far in, but it was definately a nice hike. Thanks for the tip. :)

Oddly my once backwards little country has made some very progressive steps in recent years. There are no more plastic bags offered in Irish stores anymore. Most people have reusable bags. We have some that are from Ireland. I like this site: www.ecobags.com
