maybe they're just a little more honest...

on wednesday the team met with Sarah to pray. it was good time together. she also shared a bit more of the WMF vision for the gach and sari bari. it was good insight.

she was talking about discipleship with the women. only one of the Sari Bari women claims to be a Christian. they all believe in Jesus - as one of their many gods. In fact, they all say that Jesus is their #1 god. at first i thought that sounded funny (since the poly-theism thing is not my natural world view)...but then as i thought about it a bit more, i thought, "maybe they're just a little more honest than i am." their gods are tangible, they have names and statues...and rituals of worship. my gods, well, they're a little more obscure...and nicer looking...security, my image, popularity, safety ect... but they're gods none the less. maybe its that my unwillingness to label my gods as gods makes them easier to ignore...
