This Week

I'm headed out of town in the morning. I get to go to a regional aftercare retreat and training time. I'm excited about this at a lot of different levels.

i'm excited...
  • to spend the week with the aftercare team (man i love those ladies...more and more the more i get to know them!)
  • about the times of training, and discussion
  • about the times for stillness and personal reflection built into the schedule
  • to get to know some other people doing aftercare in different cities
  • that our hotel is apparently on a beach
  • for the chance that i'll get to play "skip-bo" and "ohno" with my friends
  • that i apparently dodged a bullet on the viral fever that's been going around! (on friday i was feeling pretty gross. after 2 days of laying low i'm feeling pretty good!)

when i come back two of our new interns will be here. a new season is beginning. i'm excited for their arrival (they are the first of 6 interns coming in the next month) -but a little nervous that i'm going to feel overly responsible for their experience and transition. and for now new people will "change" my life here. So i'm working to balance my desire to help them, and for them to feel welcome - with the fact that i just cannot be fully responsible for them.

Its gonna be a good week!

I'm so glad you have the opportunity to hone your skip-bo skills...wait no that means i need to practice too or maybe I should start practicing, maybe I'll become a skip-bo shark by the time we play again:)
Enjoy your week
