smirk

She is…well, she’s so many things…where to begin…how to sum her up in a word, or a phrase. She is steady, she is loyal (she is at Sari Bari EVERYDAY). she is a bit ornery (and i love it). We have our SB leadership school every month, and we rotate locations, between our two units in the city. When you ask her if she is coming when its at her unit she’ll say something like, “I don’t know, we’ll just see what happens in the morning” and if it’s at the unit that she will have to travel to she says something like, “no I’m not going, it’s too far to travel”…but then she shows up every time.  She’s not emotional or frilly. She generally keeps to herself…and lets you know how much she loves you by teasing you…or by telling you sassy/scandalous stories. She is not outwardly expressive. She is beautiful.

Last week, on the day when I told the ladies at our unit in the South that I’m going to continue working at Sari Bari for another three years. Of course she didn’t have much to say…she just sat on the windowsill…with this great smirk on her face that said, “well how about that…she’s staying…yes!” I know what that look means. I know she won’t outright tell me that she’s happy that I’m staying. But after 2 ½ years I received the full portion of love hidden within that smirk.
