Birthday

That's right...tomorrow (or maybe today depending on when you read this) is my birthday :)

It's the first birthday i've celebrated at Sari Bari - and i rather intentionally didn't give the ladies warning that it was my birthday. I wanted to surprise them...and i wanted it to be simple.

When they found out it was my birthday (or that my birthday is tomorrow and we were celbrating today) they asked me why i didn't tell them before...and i told them i wanted to surprise them. then they told me that i should have given them 2 or 3 days notice so they could plan something special...

...but it was perfect. we ate snacks. we told stories. they sang. we drank coffee. they bought me a cake. and they gave me a beautiful gift too :) it was really perfect. to sit together with my sisters for awhile. to laugh and relax and celebrate and be celebrated. To not be in charge of distributing the cake or snacks (which usually is my job for all the other parties we do...i am the party planning committee after all...)

and perhaps, the best part is that i have a cold, so they said that they couldn't smear frosting on my face...(i really hate washing that stuff off...it's like crisco). So they put it on brooke instead. what a great gift!
