practice

was listening to a sermon this morning and the pastor said that we get good at what we practice. This is hardly an earth shattering revelation. but i was thinking about this when i went to the states.

I was in the Frankfurt airport, and then in Chicago - and i kept seeing little things that made me laugh, or smile...little snapshots of joy. and as i found such joy in little things (i can't even remember what they were, i just remember laughing multiple times at things i observed). and then generally when i was in the states how easy it was for me to laugh, to see joy...and i think its cause i've been training myself to find Joy in Kolkata...where it's harder to find. I work hard to find God's presence (when its so much easier to see His absence). I am intentional about finding joy, i work to celebrate...

...and it seems like becuase i practice finding joy so intentionally in Kolkata where it's hard to find that i've gotten pretty good at finding and embracing joy.

nice.
