Some Things I've learned...

Here's a list of some of the things i've learned this year...
  • i like paisley
  • how to accessorize
  • enough Hindi to be dangerous
  • the abbreviation for etcetera is "etc" not "ect" like i've been writing all my life (i wondered by spell check always flagged it...)
  • i'm a coffee snob
  • how to use excell (i mean, i still get myself into jams, and i still think, "there's got to be a better way to do this..." but not nearly as often as i used to!)
  • how not to live overseas (as in...what is not sustainable for me)
  • a little about how to live sustainably overseas...how to take care of myself
  • a "kolovery mocktail" NEVER disappoints (1/3 7-up, 2/3 soda water, squeeze of lime...ahhhh!)
  • i'm not great at submission...but i'm getting better....sometimes
  • relationships make me feel fully alive
  • i crave meaningful conversation
  • my "cycles" of unhealthy living
  • i get frustrated when i see something that could be better, but i don't have the authority to bring change to the situation
  • I love the TV show LOST (i've only seen through season 2...so don't say a word about anything that happens after that! i'm serious...you would be on friend probation for a LONG time!)
  • how to text message
  • how to use the calendar feature on a phone (then you don't have to write reminders on your hands!)
  • there is a big difference between ideal personal space...and what you actually need
  • bollywood dance
  • how to make jewelry
  • i love propel (the "fitness water" from gatorade)
  • unfortunately, propel doesn't have electrolytes :(
  • how to make pasta sauce
  • how to make fried dal
  • Arrested Development may be my favorite comedy tv show ever...definitely tied with the office...may have pulled ahead
  • i over pack my carry-on for long plane flights. all my good intentions of reading and journaling...never gonna happen. the in-flight entertainment is just too tempting
  • there is an "official secrets act of 1923" - really, there is...never know when that bit of knowledge is going to come in handy

I forgot to tell you! In PR we helped out with a middle school English retreat. In the morning we did stretch exercises to wake us up. Julio was leading them with the help of Jose. Julio asked people to come up and mimic their favorite animal, then we had to mimic them. Jose did the AD chicken dance!! I was laughing so hard and thinking of you. :)
