There's a chill in the air. Well, not really at all its still in the 90's most days, but it is cooler - at least in the mornings and evenings. This morning i woke up snugly in my bed, apparently i'd gotten cold in the middle of the night and pulled my blanket on. It was a great feeling.
I can't believe how close we are to Christmas....and at the same time, the signs are everywhere! I've had a bit of a Christmas party flood...just like in the states, and somehow i've managed to eat lots and lots of sweets....just like in the states.
On Friday we had our office Christmas party (tons of fun!). we've been having Christmas parties at some of the aftercare homes we work with, and that has been a real joy. Tonight i'm going to a Christmas gathering with the ladies at my church (which i'm both nervous and excited about). Tomorrow is "ex-pat Christmas" at Katie and Ollie's...we've even gotten our hands on a Turkey! I'm really excited about that gathering...and then on Friday i leave for my "Christmas in Kerela" adventure.
I'm still soaking up this advent season - and this time of waiting, expecting, longing for Emmanuel...This holiday season is really weird...marked by feeling like its the Christmas season...and feeling like it isn't Christmas at all.
