Freeset

Today we visited a business called Freeset. its run by a bunch of peeps from New Zealand. its pretty amazing. they are currently employing 70 women who have left the sex trade. they plan to move up to 100 in their current building, and have plans to buy another building and begin selling t-shirts. They sell jute bags, and export to the US. you can find out more about them at www.freesetbags.com WMF and Freeset work closely together! i'll be working one day a week at the childcare center they have for the employees :)

my bengali is getting better, although, not good by any stretch...but today i was able to talk with a few different people. The ladies at Prem Don found it very amusing that i was practicing Bangla. it was fun to learn from them and talk with them a bit :)

I was also able to interact with a few different beggar children today in a very fun/different way that i have in the past. I'd chalk it up to two things...God is at work making/keeping my heart soft (AMEN!) and secondly, i'm learning how to be here better.

All the missionaries of charity homes are closed to volunteers on thursdays (its their sabbath) so, tomorrow we have the morning off, then time as a team studying "poor in scripture" then off to language class. even in the past few days i've felt the pace of my life slow down a bit, which i'm thankful for...and which i desperately needed!

Need,need,need...look at what they are offering to you. These are times that you are going to remember for the rest of your life. They transform and redeem, they are present now and forever, they are a blessing, they are the Christ in suffering, they are the Christ in emptyness, they are a voice that claims for justice and transforms hearts.

Thank you for your presence!
