Saturday night fever

I think there is actually a law of physics that says when you're wearing silver shimmer pants and a red sequin shirt you can't just stand in a nice normal pose for pictures on your self-timed camera! Yes ladies and gentleman...last night i got my dance costume. And i think it is absolutely HILARIOUS! I had to share this treasure ASAP! pictures really don't do those pants justice. On top of amusement, I'm really thankful that it's modest - and that it fits (they didn't measure us or anything). i tried mutlitple times to upload more pictures but picassa is being dumb. you'll have to be happy with 1 for now.

My big dance debut is tomorrow night. I've got a good sized cheering section - and a couple digital cameras lined up to record it for you all. Really, this is so random - i mean, i took dance lessons for one summer when i was in 4th grade - that was the extent of my dance career until now. The past couple weeks i've gotten to know the others in my dance class more - and i've really enjoyed it. All in all this thing turned out to be a much bigger commitment than i thought it would be...but its been fun.

This week flew by. i spent parts of it feeling pretty sick...i thought i was okay, but woke up this morning with a fever and a sore throat. I'm off to a quick dr apt before the dance show. And my flat has come together. I finally have internet (hallelujah!)- and my friend Leela helped me get my curtain rods bought and installed - its amazing how much easier it is when you have a someone who speaks the language and knows the culture with you! I often joke with the aftercare team that they move mountains. They see situations that seem impossible - shrug and then make the impossible happen. They do this in big ways in the lives of the girls we serve...and i'm thankful to have a little bit of that charisma to help me in something as simple (and complicated) as curtain rods!

Tomorrow will be a day like no other for me...i recently found out that the auditorium we'll be in seats 1000 people! YIKES...no one told me that when i signed up for this gig. Also, i've figured out there will be fashion show, other dancers, and the "Miss Fit" and "Mr. Fit" beauty/fitness competition going on. Who knows what other little treasures tomorrows show holds.
