Random updates

so i thought i was better, went to work on wednesday, was fine. then thrusday i took a big turn for the worse. i left work, went back to the doc, got some blood work done, and then came home and crashed. I went friday morning to get the results of my blood work - it was a virus (so i would like to take this opportunity to say, "i was right" in not taking the antibiotics in the first place!). i was miserable all day friday - my fever got really high at night...and then saturday morning i woke up feeling much better. today i haven't had a fever all day. yipee. i don't feel perfect, but tons better than i did earlier this week. While i was sick Leela and Emily took turns coming over to make sure i was eating, and cleaning up for me...Charlie came with me to the Doc, and Catherine bought me mangos....such love!

at one point while i was using my Air conditioner i wondered how cool it was in my bedroom (cause i thought it was so cool and refreshing) - so i did the conversion on my phone...and found out that i'd set my AC to 80F and thought it was cold enough to put a light blanket on!

During the course of this sickness i haven't been able to smell much (one part of it has been a cold). So, i can't smell anything, but i'm walking down the road and i smell my least favorite smell in the whole country - the mutton shop. I hate mutton shops. some other time i'll write you a whole blog on why i hate them...the smell, the sights...the sounds - anyway, i thought it very unfair that i was miserable, couldn't smell - but still couldn't get away from the smell i hate most.

Lastly, an update on my friend whose house was torn down. A week after it was demolished her landlord gave her security deposit back in full - and she has found a new home (the first day she looked) and she's moved in. For that week she lived by her house - afraid that if she left she wouldn't get her deposit money back, which she needed as a deposit for a new place. So, she's shifted, and in a better place, and she's taken care of. my brain still can comprehend how something like that happens...but i'm thankful that my friend and her family are safe in a new home.

Now i'm off to see Prince Caspian :)
