sunday morning we were having breakfast together. my older sister and her husband and two most adorable kids ever were with us. my mom made monkey bread...so very good. we all thought it was a little strange when lydia (the 3 year old) said she wanted cereal for breakfast. i just figured it was cause she'd never experienced the joy of monkey bread...so i got her some. what 3 year old can turn it down? its like dessert for breakfast! so she ate her monkey bread and then said, "now i want cereal." i said okay and went to get some out of the pantry. she said, "i want the garfield cereal" i looked and we didn't have any...just honey nut Cheerios. then my mom figured it out and explained that those were ice cream cones and not cereal...she'd seen the picture of garfield and wanted to eat whatever was in that box. she was even willing to give up monkey bread to eat the "garfield cereal."
i guess using cartoons on food really does boost market value in the kid department! i guess those advertisers know what they're doing!
